2007 Independent Spirit Awards

2008 Results

When founded in 1984, the awards were originally called the FINDIE ("Friends of Independents") Awards. As times change, so did the awards name to Independent Spirit Awards, which also had the new addition of the spirits membership voting on the winners.

The last 22 years have seen the Film Independent's Spirit Awards grow into a vanguard event. Held on the beach in Santa Monica, as a luncheon on the beach, the awards ceremony brings together many members of the film community to celebrate the very best of independent film.

In 2005 the producing organization of the Spirit Awards changed its name from IFP/Los Angeles to Film Independent. While there have been a few name changes , the show and organization along with its mission has not changed.

The awards were presented on 24th February 2007
