UK Cinemas that host Premieres
UK Film Premieres are generally held in London's Leicester Square, this is
slowly changing as new venues begin to see the marketing opportunity of a
Film Premiere. Leicester Square is the most popular place for UK film premieres and the lions share of those are
held at the Odeon, although the more art house films will Premiere at the Curzon Mayfair
.
Both Somerset House and
now the 02 dome have hosted Premieres in 2007. This may be the beginning of
a move away from their traditional home of the West End.
Broad Street, Birmingham
Hosted a regional Premiere of "Hot Fuzz" and
"Rocky Balboa" in 2007, it has also hosted
a number of Bollywood Premieres. Now with Birmingham City Council behind the cinemas there could
well be some big film Premieres taking place there.
The UK hosts many Film
Festivals including the Glasgow, Birmingham,
Edinburgh and the BFI London film festival to name a few. These events often
host Premieres, some smaller films, and most are not the star studded type.
You can be sure there will be plenty of those men and women of the film
industries present; Directors, Producers, Writers Actors and Actresses. So
if you turn up and get there early you might even get a surprise sighting.
